Our mission is to provide volunteer opportunities for high school students to introduce Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) concepts via fun and interactive STEM activities to children of all backgrounds.
Stemmable is founded by Ruth Li in June 2023 and it is a growing team of 20 freshman, sophomores, juniors, and seniors from eight different high schools in the Bay Area of California. The group of youth is bonded by their love of STEM and the joy of providing early STEM exposure to younger children in the local community. Over the course of one and a half years since its inception, the youth volunteers have made an impact on over 2300 local children through highly engaging in-person workshops, in-person summer camps, and STEM kits distribution for back-to-school backpack events. Due to overwhelmingly positive feedback and multiple requests for additional services, Stemmable has expanded its partnerships from one library to multiple branches of San Jose Public Library, Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose, and other non-profit organizations such as Sunnyvale Community Services.
We hold in-person workshops and activities at public locations for kids to explore the various fields of STEM.
We believe in the power of experimentation. In addition to simple, engaging crafts, we allow kids to learn about important concepts through experiments.
Our activities and experiments utilize everyday materials so every child, no matter their situation, can learn about the concepts that impact our everyday lives.
STEMMABLE's mission is to make STEM education and experimentation possible for every child. Since 2023, we have served over 2300 students through 35 events. Consider donating to help us continue of our mission of spreading STEM education!
